Don’t just survive winter… thrive! Here are my top tips to stay on top of your health goals when the mercury drops.

Hot teaWith winter well and truly here, it is easy to lose sight of the things we’ve achieved through the warmer months. Staying in the present moment can allow you to embrace the weather for what it is, instead of trying to fight it.

On a cold, wet day your body will naturally want to stay indoors and keep warm.  The good news is you don’t have to fight your natural inclinations.

Follow these tips for top nourishment under challenging conditions:

Cold, rainy and uninspiring weather?

Embrace it! These precious moments indoors can be like sitting in a darkened movie theatre. Isolation for a few moments can allow you to refocus your energy on positive actions. So forget about the outside world for a few moments and dedicate some time to nourishing your:

BODY:

  • Brew organic lemongrass and ginger tea. Known to be soothing and relaxing, this tea will help you tell your mind to stop thinking about stressors in your life, and to mindfully live in the now.

MIND:

SOUL:

  • Connect with a loved one over the phone, Skype or in person. Show them you care by giving a compliment or gift. Positive interaction with family or friends is an opportunity to talk with someone you trust about what’s happening in your life.

When the sun comes out, you’ll be more capable of recharged and ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
