The Battle of the Chai

It’s not secret amongst my friends and family that I am a chai-o-holic. There is nothing more comforting than a warm cup of spicy goodness!

I have certainly tried my fair share of different brands, so I thought I would share my favourites with you!

Love Tea Caffeine Free Chai

Spiciness – 4/5
Intensity – 3/5
Sweetness – 1/5

My all-time favourite chai! Caffeine-free, so no black tea, but instead this is the perfect balance of rooibos tea and spices. I don’t like my chai sweet, so I find this blend extremely good for multiple cups during the day. It is a loose leaf dry blend. I also love this tea because it’s organic!

Love Tea Honey Spiced Chai

Spiciness – 4/5
Intensity – 4/5
Sweetness – 4/5

This a wet chai that is jam packed full of spices and it’s organic too. This is a wonderful treat without being really sweet.

Prana Chai

Spiciness – 2/5
Intensity – 5/5
Sweetness – 5/5

This is a black tea based wet chai. Whilst there is a lot of honey and black tea, the spice ratio isn’t as high as other wet chai’s. There is also a vegan version with agave instead of honey.

Calmer Sutra Chai – Original

Spiciness – 3/5
Intensity – 4/5
Sweetness – 3/5

Another wet chai, but the ratio of spices to black tea is better. There is also a vegan version with agave instead of honey.

Calmer Sutra Chai – Super Spiced Cacao Chai

Spiciness – 5/5
Intensity – 5/5
Sweetness – 4/5

A rich and indulgent chai that is quite spicy as it has chilli. It’s relatively sweet but definitely intense! This is perfect treat on a winter’s night.

Chamellia Masala Chai

Spiciness – 3/5
Intensity – 2/5
Sweetness – 3/5

Our local cafe sells this chai, so I haven’t personally brewed it myself. I like the fact that it’s organic but it hasn’t seem as intense as others on the market. This could be based on how long it’s left to brew rather than the actual intensity of the chai.
